My tattoo and its story

                                                      My tattoo

I have a hummingbird tattoo on the left side of my body on my rips and I got it two and a half years ago in Edmonton, Canada. I got this tattoo as a reminder of my year and my experiences in Canada as they significantly changed my thinking. It was a great time in my life, which I consider as a unique and important for providing me with a different way to live my life than I got from growing up in the German culture.  Canada taught me to be more relaxed and open to other people, especially strangers. So I went to a tattoo studio in Edmonton to talk to a tattoo artist who would draw me five different versions of the hummingbird flying and in different colors. Three weeks after I paid my deposit and made my appointment.  I was really nervous and afraid of the pain before getting my tattoo. I was told that my rips are the most painful spot to get a tattoo and I agree. It was a sharp pain as if somebody stabbed my with a knife in my ribs and it burned like hell. I am apparently also a bleeder since I was bleeding like hell after my tattoo artist just finished with the black outline. The 7 or 8 needles with the color ink even hurt more. After 1 ½ hours of getting the tattoo I was extremely tired and slept the whole day. After I just had to wash the tattoo and cream it for 8 weeks and it was fine. Overall it was worth the painJ!

I choose the hummingbird as a motive as it symbolizes mainly joy and adaptability. It also stands for peace, happiness, self-discovery and eternity. It has important meanings in some cultures and is even worshiped for its extraordinary existence. However, in the first place as the he tattoo is a memory and a kind of personal memorial for my grandfather. Hummingbirds were his favorite animals and he used to tell me about their extraordinary power of flight and other stories. He contributed to a big part to my live as he influenced the way I am and to a great extent the way I see and interpret the world. He provided me with important values, especially the ones of being helpful and kind to man and animal. My tattoo is a way to express myself and remind myself of where I want to go. I want to be a good person as my grandfather was and have this tattoo as a constant reminder of my goals and my personality J

After I introduced you to my tattoos and piercings does anybody of you want to share some pictures or stories about their piercings or tattoos?

My personal tattoo and piercings

·         Hey guys :)

I am happy to see that some of you are interested in my blog and I will  start off by telling you something about my own piercings

                                                                       My piercings:

I have a piercing at the top of my ear in my outer ear, called pinna piercing. I got this piercing 4 years ago with my two best friends in Germany. We went to a little piercing studio and got it shoot through our ear. It did not really hurt when I got it but it got badly infected after I changed it from a medicine ring to a normal ring. I even put some special disinfecting crème on it with antibiotics and it did not get better. I finally had to take it out after 2 months. A year after I took this one out again I decided to get it again but this time I would do it properly by getting it stabbed through the ear rather than shoot. This was obviously more painful than getting it shot but it only hurt for a minute and then the pain was over. It did not get infected and only hurt for a few weeks when sleeping on it. Otherwise I still have it as an reminder of my best friends and of my high school graduation.  I am happy that it healed fine now and I can just advice everybody to get this nice piercing it does not hurt very much and looks pretty on the earJ . Besides a reminder of my friend it has no deeper meaning but I simply like itJ.

I have another piercing in my lip on the bottom on my left side. I just got this piercing 20 days ago in Rotterdam. I considered doing this piercing since a few weeks but I never thought that I would actually do it. So one Sunday afternoon I decided it is time to get it and I got it completely spontaneously. When I arrived at the tattoo studio I got really really nervous and afraid of the pain which might come. She first put a terminal in my mouth and then stabbed the piercing through my lip. This moment was really painful but it only lasted for a few seconds. Afterwards I had to lie down and I felt numb and I was sweating like crazy. However it is healing quite will and I have to do nothing but to put some cleaning soap on it twice a day. I have no pain whatsoever and I am and was able to eat and drink everything right after I got it. The only advice I can give is to not drink a lot of alcohol since it pushes the swelling of the lip. My lip was swollen for one week and now it is fine. I just like the piercing because I think it looks nice in my face and I wanted to change my appearance and by different.
